WNTERM 

Aims and general description

The aim of the WNTerm project is to build a multilingual domain ontology (in Basque and English) on science and technology. The following will be included in this domain ontology (in WNTerm):

1. Domain terminology
2. Semantic links between domain terms
3. Links corresponding to these domain terms in the Basque and English WordNets of the Multilingual Central Repository (MCR).

The Basque and English WordNets of the MCR and The Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Science and Technology are used to feed WNTerm. Bearing these two resources in mind, this project has set itself the task of meeting other aims as well:

1. To enrich the Basque WordNet (Euskal WordNet) with terminology.
2. To organise ZTH hierarchically in line with the MCR architecture.
3. To link together all the resources (MCR, ZTH and WNTERM) used in the project.

So, the result of this project will be a science and technology domain ontology that will include the taxonomic and semantic relationships of terms. Moreover, this domain ontology will also be linked to the MCR and the ZTH.
