Applications developed

• A Translation Memory Management System (IMKS): bearing in mind the features of Translation Projects, the origin and target languages can vary from one piece of translation work to another. In view of this, it is essential to be able to work with more than just one translation memory tool. This is because these tools work with only one origin language, despite the fact that today’s tools allow more than one target language. The need to use more than one translation memory tool in the same project requires a tool for managing these memories properly, and that is why we developed the Translation Memory Management System (IMKS).
• Itzulpendok: a system to manage the whole translation process and all the documents that are produced during the course of it. This system is designed to plan, manage and monitor the translation flow of the Department for Language Services.
• System for Managing Language Quality (HKS): This system brings together all the aspects that have to do with managing Language Quality into a single data structure and work environment.
• XUXENet: A spell checker for texts in Basque, which can be used on-line or with shared customised dictionaries of the Elhuyar Foundation. It functions on-line, which means that an organisation can work with a single users’ dictionary. At the Elhuyar Foundation we have created the basic users’ dictionary from the dictionary units that are on Elhuyar’s lexicographical database and which are not in the basic XUXEN version.
